For over 50 years the pallets has been an essential element handling of goods. Pallets are mainly used in farming and food industry, beverage bottling and distribution, paper and paper products, in chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry, ceramics and overall building products, as well as electronics and electrical, raw materials and packaging, metal industry, etc.
Europallet is suitable for reuse, while the disposable pallet is intended for disposal after use. Only in recent times, different factors as the standardization requirements, the introduction of phytosanitary regulations, the need to optimize the handling of goods, or the demand for lighter pallets, durable over time, led many companies to use plastic pallets.
Up to date, the main categories of plastic pallets depend on technique and raw materials used:
*hygienic pallet in virgin plastic: these pallets are manufactured with virgin raw materials (deriving directly from oil), which feed traditional presses with high-pressure injection.
These presses have been originally designed for the molding of virgin raw materials with extremely thin capillaries and extremely high filling forces (just consider that the production of a euro pallet requires a press with clamping force of 3,000 Tons and injection force equal to 1,500-2,000 Bar), with production cycles of about 30 prints per hour, from which it derives a very high transformation cost.
*Regenerated plastic pallets: the raw material used for these pallets come from the re generation of homogeneous waste or from plastic scrap of equable nature. The processing of waste includes special washing, drawing and filtering cycles, which make the grains reusable in order to obtain quality objects. Such processing, though starting from low cost raw materials, have a major impact on the finished plastic grain due to the high percentage of scrap produced at the drawing and filtering stage, before being used by traditional injection presses within the same process described above.
*Green plastic pallet CLORIS: Pallets produced by innovative low pressure molding equipment, conceived precisely for the use of raw materials coming from recycling. In fact. Such process involves the use of plastic scrap, also of inhomogeneous nature, with minimal processing, so that it can be suitable for molding. There is no drawing and filtering phase, which may contribute to the rising of the raw material value, as in the previous case.
Pallets created with this technique are manufactured with 100% recycled raw materials and, once damaged, can be easily recycled within the same production process, which is to say: from a damaged pallet a new one is obtained, without any additive or addition of further raw materials.
The result is a 100% green process, based on raw materials which would otherwise be destined to disposal, in order to produce environmentally friendly low cost manufactures.
